Tutoring, Testing and More

SCC offers services to assist students to clarify life and career goals including information about academic and personal requirements, working conditions, job opportunities and potential salaries related to a career field. Skills assessments, computerized career assessments, career resources and internet resources are also available to assist enrolled and prospective students with this important life task.

You'll find many resources at SCC to support your academic development at SCC. We offer a wealth of services to ensure a positive environment conducive to learning no matter what your circumstances may be as a student.


AIM Center

Provides personal and career counseling and financial assistance for books, child care, educational supplies and city bus tickets to students who are economically disadvantaged, limited in English proficiency, single parents (including single pregnant women), displaced homemakers, individuals with disabilities and students enrolled in non-traditional programs.


TLC - The Rita Allison Learning Center 

Combines several student support functions in one convenient location on the Giles campus. The TLC offers students academic support via one-on-one and group tutorials in many academic subjects, as well as an open computer lab with skilled assistance. “Ask-ATutor” allows online students to submit papers or questions to tutors and lab assistants. Tutoring services are available at all SCC locations. TLC features a state-of-the-art computer lab open to SCC students, offering skilled assistance in computer classes and software use.


Testing Center

Provides a convenient, secure, and distraction-free environment for a positive testing experience. Testing Center offers a range of assessment services including makeup testing and proctored online testing for students at SCC as well as other colleges.
