Transcripts should be sent directly to SCC Admissions if you are transferring classes.
Be coded for the program, which an admissions specialist can assist you with:
- CT.EMT for an EMT Certificate
- AAS.G-EMS if you plan to progress to paramedic
Meet prerequisites required by SCC:

We strongly encourage interested students to attend an Information Session.
Familiarize yourself with your potential estimated out-of-pocket expenses and our Uniform Policy so there are no surprises after being accepted into the program.
Go to the Academic Advising Center to meet with the Health and Human Services Division advisor Charlton Williams.
The advisor will provide you with a notice of completion once she verifies you meet EMT program prerequisites.
Take your notice of completion to Natasha Pilipchuk, Administrative Assistant for Health & Human Services, on the Giles Campus, Health Science Building Room 144.
A letter of acceptance will be sent to your SCC student email once your notice of completion has been processed.
Respond to accept your seat in the EMT program.
Follow the instructions in the letter to pay your $8 liability insurance fee, and bring your receipt to EMT orientation.
EMT orientation will be held approximately 2-4 weeks prior to the first day of class. There will be one (1) make-up EMT Orientation the week before classes begin. Failure to attend the mandatory EMT orientation will result in loss of your seat in the program.
To prepare yourself to meet the required deadlines, please begin gathering the required immunizations found in Clinical & Field Experience.
Also, be prepared to create your Verified Credentials account after attending EMT orientation to begin the criminal background investigation and drug screening. The cost for this is $84.46 and payable only through Verified Credentials.
