Spartanburg Community College implemented a distance learning instructional model on March 16 that will continue through the end of the semester, April 29, in compliance with the executive order announced today by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster. SCC’s five campuses in Spartanburg, Union and Cherokee counties remain closed through March 31 for students and the public, in accordance with the Governor’s March 15 executive order.

In addition, today SCC’s Executive Council implemented a telecommuting work plan for all SCC employees beginning tomorrow, March 20, through March 31, 2020. Only employees designated as essential to the operation of the College will be allowed on campus.

“Our top priorities are the safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff and to continue teaching our students during this unprecedented time,” says Henry C. Giles, Jr., SCC president. “We have incorporated distance learning instructional models so that our semester continues with as little disruption as possible. Although COVID-19 brings many new questions and challenges each day, we are doing everything within our power to adapt and continue serving our students.”

Additionally, the college’s spring break will remain unchanged and will take place from Monday, March 30 – Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Registration for summer and fall semesters at SCC is ongoing. Information about applying to the college and registering for classes is available on the SCC website.

SCC’s Business Office has suspended the $15 credit card convenience fee to encourage online payments.

Updated information will be available on the SCC website.
