VW donates Atlas to SCC

On February 24, 2021, Volkswagen donated a VW Atlas to Spartanburg Community College. The vehicle will be used to support the school’s automotive program where students learn to diagnose, service, repair and maintain automotive systems, products and components. This auto was one of 32 nationwide VW is donating to show its support for local automotive programs and training.
Shown in photo, Joseph Romero, 18, a Dorman High School graduate who trained in the program and now is a certified technician at Vic Bailey VW in Spartanburg, talks about the steps to troubleshoot a vehicle in for needed repair with SCC students. Also present, SCC President Dr. Michael Mikota; Mark Smith, SCC auto program director; David Matheny, VW Southwest Region manager; Scott Glover, VW Vic Bailey Spartanburg service manager. and Hal Foster, VW Vic Bailey general manager, along with the students of the SCC automotive program.
