1. New Student Orientation (NSO) 

What is NSO? 
New Student Orientation is the gateway to a successful college experience. All incoming students are required to attend this essential event to help you get settled in and prepared for your academic journey at SCC.

2. First Generation Week 

What is First Generation Week?

First-Gen Week gives you the chance to hear from faculty and staff who were also first-generation students. Learn their stories, gain insights, and discover strategies for success.

3. Chaser’s Birthday Paw-ty 

What is Chaser’s Birthday Paw-ty? 
Join the fun as we celebrate the birthday of Chaser, SCC’s beloved mascot! This annual event brings together students, faculty, and staff for a paw-some celebration with plenty of opportunities to give back. 

Why Attend? 
It’s a chance to show your support for the Spartanburg Humane Society while celebrating our mascot! Bring donations for pets in need and enjoy the festivities. 

Birthday Paw-ty Highlights: 

• Pet Adoption: Adopt a new friend with help from the Humane Society. 

• Birthday Treats: Enjoy cupcakes and birthday cake! 

• Fun & Games: Take part in paw-ty games, dancing, and fun photo ops. 

4. Fall Fest 

What is Fall Fest? 
Fall Fest is SCC’s annual celebration of the Fall season. Full of games, food, and fun activities to bring everyone together, this is something you do not want to miss! It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy good food, and make lasting memories.

Take a break from studying and embrace the fall season with pumpkin decorating, Halloween fun, and more. It’s a great way to connect with classmates and staff outside of the classroom.

• Autumn-Themed Activities: From pumpkin decorating to fall-themed snacks, you’ll get into the seasonal spirit. 

• Music & Entertainment: Enjoy live music and games that will keep you entertained all day. 

• Costume Fun: Dress up in your Halloween costume for extra fun! 

5. Spring Fling 

What is Spring Fling? 
Spring Fling is SCC’s way of celebrating the arrival of warmer weather with outdoor activities, music, and delicious food. It’s an event that brings the SCC community together to enjoy everything the season has to offer. 

Why Attend? 
This event is perfect for welcoming the sunshine and spending time outdoors with friends and family. Enjoy shopping from local vendors, playing games, eating from food trucks serving tasty treats, and learn more about Spartanburg Community College.  

Spring Fling Highlights: 

• Pet Adoption: Adopt a pet with assistance from the Cherokee Humane Society. 

• Inflatable Fun: Race down slides or jump in inflatable castles for a day of fun. 

• Food Trucks: Sample a variety of foods that will leave you craving more. 

6. Student Late-Night Breakfast 

What is Late-Night Breakfast? 
Just before finals, SCC hosts a late-night breakfast to help students de-stress and fuel up for exams. Enjoy a free meal served by faculty and staff as you unwind with friends and classmates.

It’s the perfect opportunity to relax and refuel before the pressures of finals week, with a fun atmosphere to help you unwind.
