navigate the college journey and experience greater course success.
will provide a clear framework of support to ensure that students have the skills to better
navigate the college journey and experience greater course success.
Two Pillars of the Plan
1. Cross-Curriculum/Disciplinary Classroom Experiences and Community Building: building community, belonging, and shared experiences through targeted classroom and academic support that includes:
- Paired learning community focused on target courses (example: COL 103 paired with BIO 112)
- Embedded tutors, librarians and success coaches in targeted DFWI courses for additional academic support
2. Curated Support
- Individual academic degree plans through Advising Center and initiate more touchpoints throughout the semester for pathway conversation, review, and revision, if needed
- Connecting students to additional support services outside the classroom
- A comprehensive First Year Experience program that increases student exposure to campus resources beginning with an updated (program-specific) New Student Orientation
